FSCC promotes and supports the Saline High School Cross Country program. It coordinates Saline Cross Country activities, such as the annual summer cross country camp, supports athletes and provides scholarships for Saline Cross Country athletes, including the Coach Smith Scholarship. FSCC also sponsors the Saline Summerfest 5K and Saline Merry Mile races.
Promoting and supporting the Saline High School Cross Country program
The Friends of Saline Cross Country is a non-profit organization made up of present and former parents of Saline High School cross country runners, coaches, alumni and friends of the program. We meet throughout the year to raise funds, support the Saline cross country program and provide scholarships to SHS cross country runners.

Coach Smith Scholarship
Two $1,500 scholarships awarded each year to graduating seniors who exemplify academic and athletic success, teamwork, and commitment.
Summer XC Camp
Supporting the team's summer cross country camp, helping athletes build fitness and camaraderie before the season begins.
Saline Merry Mile
A festive one-mile race down Michigan Avenue along the holiday parade route, presented by Ann Arbor Running Company.
Summerfest 5K
An in-person and virtual 5K starting and finishing at Saline City Hall, supporting the Coach Smith Scholarship Fund.

Honoring Coach Smith's legacy
In 2011, the Coach Smith Cross Country Scholarship was established to honor athletes who personify what Coach Smith held dear: academic and athletic success, teamwork and commitment. Two $1,500 scholarships are awarded each year to members of the men’s and women’s teams. The recipients are announced at the end-of-season Awards Ceremony.
Friends of Saline Cross Country administers and provides the Coach Smith Scholarship. Coach Smith retired in 2016 after 39 years leading the program. Here’s your chance to give back to a program that has given so much to the students in our community.
